SuperSession

This new series of paintings, entitled Supersession, is, at its heart, about the forceful emergence of new ideas, thoughts, and information bursting their way into a sometimes reluctant mainstream.

I’m fascinated by how new ideas force their way into the world; a new piece of information or a different way of thinking starts off on the edges, and then it just erupts, breaking into a mainstream that isn't always ready for it.

In these paintings, I'm playing with that exact tension. You can see the old layers and the settled patterns getting interrupted by these bold, energetic bursts of color. It’s that powerful, and sometimes messy, process where the new doesn't just ask for a seat at the table—it reshapes the whole room.
